Dr. Alexander Knezevic, Dunes LASIK Center’s visiting board-certified ophthalmologist and surgeon, embodies the pinnacle of excellence in vision care. With a global perspective on vision health, Dr. Knezevic's diverse training and unwavering commitment make him a standout in his field. His primary practice and residence is in Los Angeles, California, and will be on site monthly for LASIK surgeries in Dakota Dunes.
His commitment to delivering the highest quality eye care earned him recognition as a top doctor in Los Angeles by Los Angeles Magazine and Pasadena Magazine in 2023.
Born in Toronto, Canada, his family settled in the Midwest when his father joined the University of Nebraska faculty. He completed his undergraduate degree with honors and earned his M.D. at the University of Nebraska. Dr. Knezevic's passion for international eye care led him to become a visiting scholar at the Tilganga Eye Institute in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Following medical school, Dr. Knezevic completed an internship at Carney Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, a Tufts University affiliate, and then his ophthalmology residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, where he served as chief resident. His commitment to global eye health was evident as he performed cataract surgeries in Chandigarh, India, during his residency.
Further advancing his expertise, Dr. Knezevic underwent specialized training in cornea, anterior segment and refractive surgery at the University of California, Irvine. His fellowship encompassed corneal transplantation techniques and various anterior segment surgeries.
A leader in the ophthalmological community, Dr. Knezevic is featured in and contributes to national and local publications, including Forbes Health, Allure, the Beverly Hills Courier and Cataract & Refractive Surgery Today. As a board-certified Fellow of the American Board of Ophthalmology, he holds academic appointments at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and UCLA.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr. Knezevic is a reader, writer, surfer and sailor, enjoying an active Southern California lifestyle with his family.
