Lens Treatments and Enhancements
Anti-Reflective/Non-Glare – This lens allows more light to transmit through the lenses of eyewear, resulting in elimination of reflections that cause glare. These lenses are ideal for reading indoors, watching TV, sporting events or night driving.
Scratch Resistant – This enhances the scratch resistance of any plastic lens. Adding a treatment to the front and back of the lens surface will help provide an extra quality scratch resistant coating.
Photochromatic – Our photochromatic tint here is known as Transitions©. This lens is activated by the UV rays from the sun and turns color automatically when outdoors. It provides convenience in not having to reach for prescription sunglasses, as well as comfort from the bright sunlight.
Polarized – Sun lenses that are tinted dark enough to absorb light and block additional glare from flat surface reflections such as the road or water. These are the sun lens of choice for driving and outdoor activities.
Mirror Coatings - This coating is able to be applied to the front side of a lens to reflect light, which in turn makes the lens darker by penetrating extra light to pass through the lens. For the greatest sun protection, a polarized lens with a mirror on the front side and an anti-reflective coating on the backside is the best option.
UV Coating – This coating helps prevent harmful UV rays from damaging the cornea and the retina of the eye and may be added to conventional plastic lenses.
