When complications have occurred with LASIK (less than 2% of over 12 million US patients), outdated technology and patients who were not good candidates in the first place were the two primary factors. Some eyes are simply not suited for LASIK. Even with today’s most advanced technology, about 10% of applicants at Dunes LASIK Center are frankly advised to consider another method of vision improvement. Dr. Womack and Dr. Ferguson will not recommend LASIK unless they know they can achieve the outcome you want and that LASIK can provide.

• We won’t treat you like a number.

Although Dr. Womack has personally performed over 20,000 procedures, an excellent record of success in a medical field where 5,000 procedures is considered the benchmark, his focus is always on the person.

• We won’t cut-rate your vision.

Affordability is a factor in any elective surgery and some centers focus on this sensitive issue by offering discounts and price cuts that sound too good to be true.

While offers like $499 or $699 look good, the truth is that the amount of vision correction performed for this price is so minor that most people who qualify wouldn’t have needed LASIK to begin with. According to the Wall Street Journal, the average price per eye for one of the largest chains, LASIK Plus, was $1,619.

But we’re not running a production line – so relax and leave your concerns about sales pressure – and your checkbook – at home.
